Day 2: Cairo – Giza – Memphis – Cairo

Begin your morning with breakfast at the hotel.

Today, you will explore the wonders of Ancient Egypt on a full-day tour accompanied by a professional English-speaking Egyptologist. The tour begins at the world-famous archaeological site, the Giza Plateau.

You will start at the Great Pyramid of Cheops, which is the largest of the three pyramids and the only surviving Wonder of the Ancient World. Continue to the Pyramid of Chephren, considered one the best preserved of the complex. Next, you will see the smallest structure of the three, the Pyramid of Menkaure. The last stop on the Giza Plateau tour is one of Egypt’s most iconic sites–the Sphinx. This awe-inspiring monument was carved from a single limestone outcrop, with a lion’s body measuring 150 ft (45 m) long and 50 ft (15 m) wide paws.

Take a break and enjoy lunch before embarking on the next leg of your journey.

You will be taken to Saqqara, a vast necropolis that holds the ancient burial sites for royalty and high officials spanning multiple dynasties. Here, you will visit the famous Step Pyramid of Djoser, considered the oldest large-scale stone structure in the world and the first pyramid in Egypt.

Move onto the nearby city of Memphis, the ancient capital of the Old Kingdom spanning roughly from 2686-2181 BC. Here, you will visit the Open-Air Museum, home to the colossal Statue of Ramses II, the Alabaster Sphinx, and other impressive remains.

After the tour, return to the hotel and enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 3: Cairo – Alexandria – Cairo

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel to start the morning.

Today, you will climb aboard the coach to drive from Cairo to Alexandria, which will take around 3 hours. The exciting tour will feature unbeatable visits to the main attractions of Alexandria, the 2nd largest city in Egypt!

You will begin in the Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa, where a seamless blend of ancient Egyptian, Greek, and Roman architectural styles reflects the diversity of the city. Travel to Pompey’s Pillar next, a triumphal column that was dedicated to Emperor Diocletian, despite the misleading name.

Afterward, pause for a photo stop outside of the Qaitbay Fort, which was built over the remains of Alexandria’s Lighthouse, one of the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World. Then, enjoy a panoramic visit from outside of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, which was built to commemorate the lost Library of Alexandria.

Take a stop to eat lunch before boarding the coach and spend the evening driving back to Cairo.

Upon return, travel to a local restaurant for dinner.

Day 4: Cairo – Aswan

Eat breakfast at the hotel before today’s grand adventure.

Transfer to Cairo Airport to board your domestic flight to Aswan. Upon arrival, you will be met and assisted by the tour manager.

You will begin with a guided tour and will be joined by an English-speaking Egyptologist–a highlight of this trip! The first exciting stop is a visit to the High Dam, a remarkable feat of engineering built in the 1960s during the presidency of Gamal Abdel Nasser. The dam protects Egypt from the annual flooding of the Nile and provides electricity across the country.

Continue your visit to the enchanting Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis. This beautiful temple complex was carefully relocated to Agilkia Island after the construction of the High Dam, saving it from the rising waters of Lake Nasser. Its elegant columns, reliefs, and setting make it one of the most beloved temples in Egypt.

After the visit, transfer to your hotel in Aswan and check-in.

Overnight in Aswan (breakfast).

Day 5: Ashwan – Abu Simbel – Aswan Nile Cruise

Today, your delicious meal starts with a breakfast box.

In the early morning (around 04:00 AM), you will board the air-conditioned vehicle and depart to Abu Simbel, a historical site in southern Egypt near the Nubian border.

Upon arrival, you will visit one of the greatest architectural achievements of ancient Egypt–the magnificent Abu Simbel Temples. These rock-cut structures were built by Ramses II and remained buried under the sand for centuries until their rediscovery in the 19th century. In the 1960s, they were successfully relocated to higher ground by a UNESCO-led project to save them from the rising waters of Lake Nasser after the construction of the High Dam.

After this exciting experience, return to Aswan and transfer to your Nile Cruise. Upon checking-in on board you'll enjoy a delicious lunch.

In the afternoon, depart on a relaxing felucca ride (traditional sailboat) around the picturesque islands of Aswan. Along the route, you will pass by the Agha Khan Mausoleum and the Botanical Gardens on Kitchener’s Island.

Return to the cruise and enjoy dinner on board.

In the afternoon, disembark for a visit to the unique Temple of Kom Ombo, built during the Ptolemaic period and completed under Roman rule. This extraordinary site is dedicated to two gods: Sobek, the crocodile god; and Haroeris (Horus the Elder), the falcon-headed god. The temple is perfectly symmetrical, with twin entrances, halls, and sanctuaries for each deity.

After exploring these stunning ruins, return to the cruise and continue sailing towards Edfu.

In the evening, enjoy a Galabeya Party on board—a party with traditional Egyptian long dresses, music, dancing, and entertainment. Dinner will also be served.

Afterward, you’ll visit one of the best-preserved ancient shrines in Egypt–the Temple of Edfu. Built from sandstone blocks during the Ptolemaic period in the 3rd century BC, this Greco-Roman temple is dedicated to the falcon god Horus. It offers a remarkable insight into ancient religious architecture and rituals.

After the visit, return to the cruise where you’ll eat lunch and continue sailing towards Esna, crossing the lock, and then onward to Luxor.

In the afternoon, you will explore the wonders of Luxor’s East Bank. Starting with the magnificent Karnak Temple Complex, visit this vast open-air museum which is the largest place of worship ever built. This sanctuary dedicated to Amun Ra was expanded over 2,000 years by generations of pharaohs, each contributing to its splendor.

You will continue to the majestic Luxor Temple, connected to Karnak by the ancient Avenue of Sphinxes. This temple, built primarily by Amenhotep III and later expanded by Ramses II, is especially known for its grand colonnades and beautifully illuminated columns at sunset. Rather than being dedicated to a God or Deity, Luxor temple is dedicated to the rejuvenation of kingship.

Later, enjoy dinner on board, followed by an Egyptian folkloric show.
